Create your own yarn by upcycling clothes and other materials that have outlived their original use. Learn the history and principles of drop spinning, make a spindle out of items that you'd find easily to hand at home. 

Thousands of years ago people grew plants and spun plant fibres into yarn then wove fabric. This fun and engaging workshop makes a 
connection to these ancient skills. 

You will come away having made an upcycled drop spindle and a skein of yarn to knit, crochet or weave.

Mountfields Allotments, Loughborough.
